Managers set the tone for employee engagement, performance, and well-being. Yet, many step into leadership roles without the necessary skills to guide and support their teams effectively. Without proper development, this can lead to misalignment, disengagement, and even burnout. GuideWell, part of Blue Cross Blue Shield, recognized that leadership training needed to go beyond just management skills—it needed to help employees become better humans, inside and outside of work. To achieve this, they partnered with MasterClass at Work to build a customized, values-driven development program. The initiative delivered curated content weekly through Microsoft Teams, featuring guided discussions and independent learning Paths. By reinforcing company values and fostering personal growth, the program helped employees build resilience, improve communication, and maintain a strong foundation of trust. In this session, Kristine Ellis from GuideWell will share how her team designed and launched this program, and the measurable impact it had on managers and employees alike.
In this session, you will::
How aligning leadership training with company values enhances engagement and performance.
The role of structured discussions and customized learning in building leadership capabilities.
